Cassegrain telescope
The Cassegrain telescope (named after its inventor) is a popular type of reflecting telescope. It uses the principle that light rays from an object pass through a smaller secondary mirror and then strike the larger primary mirror, which reflects them back to an eyepiece. This design results in higher magnification than simple reflector telescopes because more of the light collected by the primary mirror gets transmitted through the eyepiece and into your eye.
